Cairo Medievale is a lively historical reenactment that transforms the center of Cairo Montenotte into a medieval village. With shows, costume parades, and taverns, it offers an immersive experience of the Ligurian Middle Ages.

From August 6 to 10, 2025, the historic center of Cairo Montenotte will be transformed into a medieval village for the latest edition of Cairo Medievale, one of the most anticipated summer events in the Bormida Valley. The event brings the atmosphere of days gone by back to the town’s streets, with hundreds of costumed participants, street performers, musicians, drummers, and traveling shows.

Every evening, taverns open their doors, offering traditional dishes inspired by the cuisine of the era, accompanied by wine, craft beer, and live entertainment. The streets and squares host historical encampments, craft markets, falconry demonstrations, juggling acts, duels, and medieval dances.

The parades featuring period costumes and the evening shows—with fire displays, lights, and music—are particularly captivating and attract thousands of visitors every year. The event is organized by the Municipality of Cairo Montenotte in collaboration with Bar & Restaurants associations Bar & Restaurants volunteers, and is designed for all ages.

Cairo Medievale a journey through time that blends cuisine, art, and tradition, bringing the community together every summer and celebrating the village’s history in an engaging and spectacular atmosphere.
