What you will discover

Strolling through the streets of Bragno, a hamlet of Cairo Montenotte, you need only look up to discover that art is everywhere. House facades, walls, and glimpses of the neighborhood become open-air canvases, transforming a simple stroll into a small cultural journey.

The Bragno Museum an open-air museum that winds through the town’s streets and was created with the aim of bringing art out of traditional spaces. Here, some of the most famous works in art history—normally housed in the world’s major museums—are reproduced on the neighborhood’s walls, creating a route that everyone can explore, step by step.

As you stroll through the village streets, you’ll come across images inspired by the masterpieces of artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Van Gogh, Caravaggio, and Monet, accompanied by brief explanations that help you learn about the works and their meaning. The result is an open-air museum that combines education, contemporary art, and the daily life of the village.

The project was launched thanks to the efforts of the Giacomo Briano Memorial Association, with the aim of promoting the town and creating a space where culture and community come together. Over time, the project has been enriched with new works and initiatives, becoming a constantly evolving creative space.

Today, the Bragno Museum one of the most original cultural projects in the Bormida Valley: a museum with no admission fee that’s always open, where you can discover art simply by walking through the village streets.
